No Beginning Nor End

This is a painting with a classic back figure a la CD Friedrich. A woman looks through a window and contemplates the view. She is the link between interior and exterior, between the private and the world. The curtains are important; they mark the separation between outside and inside. There is another imaginary room in front of the picture where the colored strips hang. We must then imagine that we are in that anteroom as a viewer.
