To use personal, biographical references or constrains my thinking in my art practice. What I seek is a state of openness to what is happening without being limited by my personal choice. I want something new something out of the box to develop.

One way to do this is to use images that I (in advance) do not know anything about. Internet is a place where such motifs can be found , you never know what to expect. By using a random method for selecting images and a painterly transfer method where the painting is upside down, my commitment is reduced to presence and execution.

On the basis of these premises all I need to do is to be there and execute what there is to do. Something happens in the transfer/painting practice, errors, unfocus and lapses which adds an extra aspect to the work. You could see it as totally meaningless (the nihilistic view) OR with a hidden meaning (the deterministic view). This makes it a very thrilling practice even if the sender and meaning is unclear - even to myself.

On show: paintings made up of 3 images each - blended together in Photoshop. The images are picked from image searches on Google based on the words : souvenir, futures, transition.
