The point is, I'm really quite neutral, no prejudice, not been conditioned, with no sense of identity.

True Neutral- A true neutral character does what seems to be a good idea. He doesn't feel strongly one way or the other when it comes to good vs. evil or law vs. chaos. Most true neutral characters exhibit a lack of conviction or bias rather than a commitment to neutrality. Such a character thinks of good as better than evil after all, he would rather have good neighbors and rulers than evil ones. Still, he's not personally committed to upholding good in any abstract or universal way. Some true neutral characters, on the other hand, commit themselves philosophically to neutrality. They see good, evil, law, and chaos as prejudices and dangerous extremes. They advocate the middle way of neutrality as the best, most balanced road in the long run. True neutral is the best alignment you can be because it means you act naturally, without prejudice or compulsion. However, true neutral can be a dangerous alignment when it represents apathy, indifference, and a lack of conviction.

an ongoing sculpture project since 1994

The project "State of Mind" has gone a long way since it started with a clay modeled head from which a casting was made. Along the way it grew to a big project with several hundreds of variations. Different approaches , materials and media has been been changing over the time. The heads has been used in different fields such as sculpture, photo montages, installations and graphic works. The size of the project does not belong to the individual works, but the time span of 25 years - almost a lifetime achievement.

The original idea was to create a stoic head in clay which, because of its neutral expression, paradoxically evokes many different interpretations depending on the circumstances in which it appears.

Each newly cast head is basically the same but gets its individuality through post processing and the contexts in which the head is placed. The cast/change process is metaphorically similar to when twins grow up and interact with different environments.

Recently, the head used in interaction with nature and time. The head is placed in different locations and left there for several years. The site climate: sun, rain, temperature, wind, animals leave traces on the head which becomes part final artwork together with photo documentation.
